Mandibular Advancement Splints (MAS)
Nice Guidelines (NG202) recommended customised, or semi-customised, mandibular advancement splints (MAS) for the treatment of people with mild, moderate and severe symptomatic OSAHS as an alternative to CPAP, if CPAP is not tolerated or declined.
However, there is currently no pathway in place for access to MAS through the NHS. Some sleep services have introduced their own process and the OSA Alliance has been working with these centres to devise a way for more centres to access this treatment.
